Platform Infrastructure & AI Team Leader

We are looking for an experienced and visionary Platform Infrastructure & AI Team Leader to join our R&D team in Israel. In this role, you will lead a mission-critical team responsible for the backbone of vcita’s technology stack. You will bridge the gap between high-scale DevOps, cutting-edge AI infrastructure, and seamless developer experience.

Your mission is to equip our R&D organization with a robust, secure, and high-performance infrastructure, while advancing our AI agentic capabilities and fostering a culture of engineering excellence. If you are a seasoned leader with a deep background in Backend engineering and DevOps, who is passionate about building platforms that empower other developers, this is the role for you.

We utilize Cursor as our primary IDE across the entire R&D team and expect our engineers to leverage GenAI tools 100% of their time to accelerate delivery, automate the mundane, and solve complex problems.

Team Mission

• AWS & Cloud Governance: Design and maintain a scalable, secure, and cost-effective AWS environment based on Landing Zone architecture and Well-Architected principles.
• AI Agentic Infrastructure: Develop and manage the infrastructure for AI agents (using tools like LangGraph/OpenCode), ensuring multi-model support, performance, and security.
• Developer Experience (DevEx): Own the CI/CD pipelines and internal tooling to maximize development velocity and simplify the path to production.
• Core Backend Infrastructure: Build and maintain foundational modules, including microservice boilerplates, roles & permissions, and shared infrastructure libraries.

• Team Leadership: Lead a team of senior Backend and DevOps engineers through the full product life cycle, including architecture, design, development, quality, and production.
• Technical Sovereignty: Act as the subject matter expert for Cloud Infrastructure and AI orchestration.
• AI Innovation: Drive the implementation of AI infrastructure, focusing on agentic workflows, security protocols for LLMs, and performance optimization.
• Mentorship: Recruit, onboard, and mentor team members, promoting best practices in code reviews, cloud architecture, and modern backend methodologies.
• Developer Empowerment: Standardize R&D processes by providing high-quality boilerplates and internal tools that reduce cognitive load for feature teams.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with R&D leadership and Product Managers to align infrastructure milestones with business goals.
• Hands-on Contribution: Maintain high technical standards by contributing at least 50% of your time to hands-on development and architecture.

• Leadership Experience: At least 4 years of experience as a Team Leader in a product-oriented R&D organization (this is not a first-time leadership role).
• GenAI Proficiency: A "GenAI-native" mindset. You must be highly comfortable with (and enthusiastic about) using tools like Cursor and LLMs for 100% of your engineering workflow.
• Backend & DevOps Core: Strong background in Backend Engineering (Node.js, Python, or similar) and deep hands-on experience with AWS ecosystem.
• AI Infrastructure Savvy: Proven experience or deep understanding of AI/LLM infrastructure, including agent frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, LangChain), multi-model orchestration, and AI security.
• DevEx Focus: Extensive experience building or managing CI/CD pipelines and improving developer workflows in a microservices environment.
• System Architecture: Proven ability to design complex distributed systems, with a focus on modularity (boilerplates, shared libraries) and security (Identity & Access Management).
• Execution: Strong ability to translate business challenges into technical roadmaps and lead the execution in an agile environment.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field- an advantage.
