Apps & integrations

Our partners have the opportunity to enhance inTandem’s core capabilities by seamlessly integrating their own apps and services, as well as third-party apps that are popular with their target market. The integration process is straightforward and effortless, empowering partners to create a distinct ecosystem of services and experience a rapid time to market.

  • What are apps?

Apps are services and add-ons that are not part of inTandem’s core modules. While some apps are developed and published by inTandem, many apps are published by third parties, and integrated into the inTandem platform. Apps can be found in the platform’s appmarket, and can be introduced via integration points throughout the platform’s user interface.
  • What are integration points?

Integration points are features within the inTandem platform which are built to connect to external applications. Through these integration points, users are encouraged to discover apps in a contextual environment, and as part of their business workflow.
  • Who publishes apps?

While some of the apps in the appmarket are developed and published by inTandem, others are published by third parties. Many of our partners leverage inTandem ’s open platform to integrate their own apps, or connect third-party apps that are popular among their target market.
  • How do I publish my own apps?

Please visit our developer’s hub to find inTandem’s APIs and detailed documentation.
  • What resources do I have access to?

In addition to detailed documentation, developers have access to a design system that includes all components and design guidelines. This allows partners to develop applications that match the platform’s look and feel, providing a seamless user experience and a fully integrated user journey.
  • What else do I need to know about the app framework?

When publishing an app, developers can leverage various platform components to increase app discoverability and cover a wide range of user cases, such as:

    Notification Center:
The app can push notifications to the platform’s main notification center. Notifications can be sent according to user activity or items that require the user’s attention.

    Reports:
App developers can leverage the platform’s reports module to offer in-depth reports and insights based on data collected by the app.

    Quick Actions:
Actions related to apps can be added to the platform’s “quick action” menu, which is available on many of the platform’s main pages.
  • Can apps be monetized through the platform?

The app’s publisher can define your pricing strategy:

    Free apps:
Apps can be made available to users at no additional cost.

    Paid apps:
Apps can be available to users at a cost. In this case, the partner will define the price of the app’s monthly subscription. An app’s price can be set to cover all staff members using the account or apply an additional cost for each staff member using the app.
  • How does billing for apps work?

inTandem will bill users for apps on behalf of partners, and provide partners with their share of the revenue as part of the monthly invoicing process.
To purchase an app, the end user must initiate the app purchasing flow from the platform’s app market. Through this flow, the user will select an app, confirm the purchase, provide their method of payment, and receive a confirmation and invoice via email.
  • Will inTandem request me to share revenue from my published apps?

InTandem does not require partners to share revenues generated by their apps. Revenue sharing will only apply if the app has been published by inTandem or by another third party.

  • Will my app become available to anyone else besides my own clients?

Yes, the app’s publisher can choose to make the app available to the platform’s users. By publishing the app across the environment, partners can unlock additional revenue potential beyond their own customer base.
  • Can I offer a free trial for my app?

The app’s publisher can choose whether or not to offer a free trial period, and determine how long of a trial to offer.
  • Does inTandem offer custom development services?

Yes, inTandem’s highly experienced professional services team can be hired to complete partner integration projects.
  • What types of integration points are available with inTandem?

    Messaging Channels:
In today’s market, small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) are expected to provide high-quality customer service on multiple communication channels. However, managing these channels can create fragmentation in customer communication and make it challenging for SMBs to manage customer inquiries efficiently. inTandem addresses this challenge by providing SMBs with a central inbox for email and SMS messages, which offers a chat-like experience. All customer conversations are managed directly from within the CRM and offer a comprehensive view of all client engagements, including messages, bookings, payments, and documents. Partners can integrate additional communication channels and chat applications into inTandem’s central inbox, allowing users to enjoy a unified and comprehensive messaging experience.

    Payment Processing:
A simple and reliable payment collection process is the foundation of every successful small business. Payment processing services have become an essential part of every small business’s tech stack, and inTandem supports several payment processing services, including Paypal (and Venmo in the US), Square, Stripe, and inTandem’s native payment processing services. Partners can connect any third-party processing service and enable SMBs to process payments and benefit from fully integrated payment collection features such as online invoicing, deposits, automated billing, and more.

    Third-Party Applications Available through SSO:
inTandem enables partners to connect any third-party application and provide users with a seamless integrated experience. Apps can be discovered, installed or purchased from different touchpoints within the user journey:
» Contextual integration point: apps can be made available to users through a contextual recommendation.
» Main menu: partners may choose to embed applications into the platform’s main menu. In this case, the partner will choose the menu category to list the app under and provide the label name for the app.
» App market: users can also discover apps via the platform’s app market.
» Apps can be made available through any of these options or a combination of them.
